Mystery Bite

It all started in early 2025. You might remember that unique moment in internet history—the "Digital Migration." As the future of TikTok in the US felt uncertain, thousands of "TikTok refugees" found a new home on Xiaohongshu.

What happened next was magical. Across language barriers and time zones, people began "paying cat taxes," "cross-checking bank statements," and most importantly, exchanging secret recipes. In those comment sections, we found more than just food; we found pure, raw human connection and a childlike joy in discovering the unknown.

Mystery Bite was born from that spirit of exchange.

I am a designer by trade and a food lover at heart, but I had never written a line of code in my life. Inspired by that wave of cultural curiosity and empowered by the dawn of AI, I decided to build a bridge. I wanted to capture the thrill of that "blind box" discovery—where you might find a comforting bowl of General Tso’s Chicken or a "brave" challenge like Century Egg.

This is my first app. It is a labor of love, crafted with the help of AI and a passion for my culture. It might have a few rough edges, and I ask for your patience as I learn and grow with you. My only hope is that through these digital cards, you find a taste of the same joy we all felt during that unforgettable spring of 2025.
